-Tell me if you have a specialty tool, vagcom, etc. ......I have VAG-COM, ScanGuage, TB Tools, Brake flush thingy, Alternator pulley tools, Air-conditioned garage (one bay right now) hopefully in the future I will have a one-bedroom guest apartment adjacent to the garage.
-Are you are newbie, weekend wrencher, or a guru......... You be the judge! I've been maintaining my own VWs since 1973......diesels since 1980 and TDIs since 2002. I have over one dozen TDI TB jobs behind me. Done three head jobs (no pun intended), replaced one tranny, done three clutches, done three heater switch repairs, done several glove box repairs, done rotors/pads, replaced GPs, replaced MAF senors, replaced FCMs, repair/replaced rad fans ........
I have a number of Bentley manuals.
I'm in the process of doing a TDI ALH transplant into an '84 Vanagon!
Mechanicis was not my profession!
